How to calculate your Life Path number
- Write your full date of birth as digits: month, day and the four-digit year.
- Add all of the digits together.
- When the sum has more than one digit, add its digits again. Repeat until a single digit remains.
- If a total you get in step 2 or step 3 is 11, 22 or 33, stop there. These are called master numbers.
Examples
- July 3, 1990: 7 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 29, then 2 + 9 = 11. Life Path 11 (a master number, so we stop).
- December 25, 1985: 1 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 5 = 33. Life Path 33.
- April 14, 2001: 4 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 1 = 12, then 1 + 2 = 3. Life Path 3.
Some numerologists add the month, day and year separately first. Most results are the same either way; when a master number is involved the two methods can differ. This site adds every digit at once, as in the examples above.
The calculator on the home page does this for you, and the compatibility calculator does it for two people.
